How to Manage or Delete Copilot Memory in Windows 11

Windows Copilot can remember certain information from your interactions to provide more personalized responses. While this feature can be helpful, you may want to manage, or delete stored memory for privacy or preference reasons. In this guide, we’ll show you two ways to manage or remove Copilot memory in Windows 11.

Method 1: Manage or Delete Copilot Memory from Copilot Settings

You can review and remove Copilot memory directly within the Copilot interface. This allows you to delete specific memories or clear everything at once.

Step 1. Open Copilot Settings

  • Click the Copilot icon on the Windows taskbar to open Copilot.
  • Click the profile icon in the lower-left corner.
  • Select Settings.

Step 2. Delete Specific Memory

  • If you want to delete a specific memory, go to the Manage memory.
  • Review the stored memories.
  • Click the Delete button next to any item you want to remove.

Step 3: Clear All Copilot Memory

  • If you want to delete all memories, go to the Privacy.
  • Click Delete Memory to remove all stored Copilot memories at once.

Method 2: Manage or Delete Copilot Memory from Microsoft Edge

If you use Copilot through Microsoft Edge, you can manage its memory directly from the Edge Copilot settings.

Step 1. Open Copilot in Microsoft Edge

Open Microsoft Edge and click the Copilot (Chat) icon in the top-right corner of the browser.

Step 2. Open Copilot Settings

Click More options (… ) in the Copilot panel and then select Settings.

Step 3. Manage Copilot Memory

  • Click Privacy.
  • Select Manage personalization and memory.

Step 4. Delete Copilot Memory

  • Delete all memory: Click Delete all memory to remove everything Copilot has stored.

  • Delete specific memory: Under Facts you’ve shared, click the Edit button and delete the individual memory items you want to remove.
