Copilot Journeys is an AI-powered feature integrated into Microsoft Edge that groups your browsing sessions into “journeys”, and is designed to use your history, search activity, and context to help you continue tasks or rediscover previously visited content.
However, not all users are comfortable with this level of tracking or may simply prefer a cleaner, distraction-free experience. This guide walks you through how to disable Copilot Journeys in Microsoft Edge if you prefer better privacy.
To turn off Copilot Journeys in Microsoft Edge, you essentially need to turn off Copilot Mode entirely. Since Journeys only works when Copilot Mode is enabled, so turning this off fully disables it and other all AI features, including Copilot Actions and any AI-powered new tab features.
After launching the Microsoft Edge browser on your Windows PC, click the three-dot menu (⋯) in the top-right corner and select Settings from it.

In the left sidebar, go to AI innovations.

Go to the right sidebar, and toggle off the opion labeled “Copilot Mode”.

Even after disabling the feature, previously collected data may still exist. So you may want to clear browsing history for privacy, ensuring no past Journey data is used.

Turning off Copilot Journeys in Microsoft Edge is straightforward and helps you regain control over your browsing data and experience. Whether you are prioritizing privacy or simplicity, adjusting these settings ensures Edge works the way you prefer.
