A Quick Tutorial on How to Use Wise Startup Manager
Wise Startup Manager is a free Windows startup management tool that lets you view and manage startup programs, scheduled tasks, services, drivers, and context menu items. By disabling unnecessary startup items, you can effectively shorten boot time and free up system resources.
Step 1: Download and Install
Visit the official WiseCleaner website to download the Wise Startup Manager installer. Double-click the installer file and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the setup.
Step 2: Scan System Startup Items
Launch the program and click the blue Scan button at the top to scan all startup items on your system. Use the left navigation panel to switch between categories like Login Items, Scheduled Tasks, Services, Drivers, App Packages, and Context Menu items.
Step 3: Review and Analyze Items
Each entry displays its name, publisher, file path, status, and risk level to help you determine which items are safe to disable. You can use the search bar at the top to filter items, or go to Settings > Advanced Options and uncheck Hide Microsoft entries to view all system startup items.
Step 4: Disable or Delete Unwanted Items
Select the item you want to modify, then click the three dots icon in the "More" column or right-click and select Disable to prevent it from launching at startup. If you are certain an item is no longer needed, select Delete. Tip: It is recommended to disable an item first to make sure your system functions normally before deleting it.
Step 5: Backup and Restore
Wise Startup Manager automatically creates a backup the first time a scan completes each day. To restore your settings, go to Settings > Backup & Restore, click Restore, and select a backup file to revert to a previous state in one click.
With just a few simple steps, you can easily take control of your startup items to keep your PC booting faster and running smoother. We recommend periodically checking your startup entries with Wise Startup Manager to maintain peak system performance.
